The nice thing about the photo experiment is that it is easier to spot those subtle changes in nature whenever there is a slightly warmer day, or even whenever nature is just a week further into the season.

This week Northern Ireland made world news together with Scotland for having unusually wintery weather: blizzards, sib 0 temperatures. It was quite surreal! Thank goodness the holidays had already started and a lot of children and adults did not have to leave their homes. The view on 31 March does not really give you an idea of how it was the night before, this one may. This was one of the very few where we could actually see something on the photograph!!

New project: Mallview 365, week 1

21 March 2010

The start of spring began with a new project that involved no sewing, no singing and no baking. What?! Why am I writing about something like that on this blog?! Well, I was wondering whether I should. I was inspired by the lovely The Wonderful Weekend Book by Elspeth Thompson, who sadly died last week. She proposed venturing on a photographing project and casually mentioned some subjects: colours, shapes, time of day, views.

I decided I would take a photograph from our living room window, every day between 7 and 8 in the morning for the next year (when I am in the house of course) from our view on the Mall. Already I begin to cherish our view more and more, and feel that consistently making photographs of such everyday subjects makes you appreciate the more!
